Shortly after joining the Account Management Team as a Regional Director, I took the initiative to lead Employee Engagement efforts for the entire Commercial Markets team—comprising four departments and over 150 employees. Recognizing the opportunity to enhance workplace culture, I established an Employee Engagement Committee by recruiting passionate volunteers dedicated to fostering a dynamic and supportive work environment.
To ensure effective execution, we structured the committee into specialized sub-groups focused on key initiatives: Rewards & Recognition, Communications & Newsletter, Employee Onboarding & Development, and a Mentorship Program. In our first year, we successfully organized and executed over 56 engagement initiatives and events, including:
Community Service & Philanthropy: North Texas Food Bank Volunteer Day, Irving ISD Holiday Food Drive, Salvation Army Toy Drive & Volunteer Day, National Acts of Kindness Week, Angel Tree, March of Dimes Walk, American Heart Association Awareness Events, Coat and Canned Food Drives.
Employee Engagement & Culture: Employee Appreciation Events, Virtual Talent Show & Tell, Team Town Halls, Happy Hours, Office Parties, Luncheons, Team Building Events, and an End-of-Year Celebration.
Companywide Recognition & Development: Annual Sales & Account Management Conference with Awards Ceremony, Quarterly Newsletter Publications, Virtual Contests (e.g., Ugly Sweater, Pumpkin Carving), Scavenger Hunts, and internal video blogs and podcasts.
As a result of these initiatives, we achieved a 26.6% increase in overall employee satisfaction and a 36% reduction in employee attrition within the first year. By the second year, our Employee Engagement Action Committee was recognized with the company’s prestigious Team of the Year award, underscoring the lasting impact of our efforts on workplace culture and employee retention.
Creating New Employee Engagement Committee Leads to Improvement in Employee Satisfaction Score and Retention Rate
‘Regina is a dynamic client success leader and account executive. She stepped in and took over a malnourished client portfolio and developed strategic relationships with the high-profile health plans almost immediately after joining the team.
I had the privilege of working alongside her as we grew our client portfolio together and set an example for those that followed. Regina is an asset to any organization that she is a part of, especially growing client relationships and leading successful teams. ’
